Paul, at dance outs and events, would often introduce us thus:  "Ladies and Gentlemen... we are Bloodstone Border Morris... ", with heckles of "Bloooodstonnnee!"  "... from the sunny south island of England known as The Isle of Wight.  We took our name from Bloodstone Copse, high on Ashey down, where it is said a great battle took place between the Saxons and the Danes and it is now seen that the water that spills from Bloodstone Copse runs bloodstained red".  Often followed by heckles of "muddy brown!"
